Madura Teak Tobacco Bowl with Lid

60

U104

This tobacco bowl with a lid was collected by Thierry Durieux in Madura in the early 1980's. It measures approximately 19 cm across and it stands 12 cm high. The bowl area is a little less than 8 cm deep and 18 cm across. The inside and the bottom is worn and eaten by termites, indicating that this bowl was for a long time not used, laying on a dirt floor. It was collected by Thierry Durieux in Madura in the early 1980's. It is most likely that this bowl was made and used in the 19th century and it was most likely used as a container for tobacco.
